If the colour scheme is champagne, the mother of the bride could choose natural colours such as cream and beige; if it’s deep purple she might choose lilac or mauve – although she should be careful to steer clear of anything too similar to the style and shade of the bridesmaid dresses.

Mother of the bride hairstyles depend on the choice of headwear, whether it be a wide brim hat or a fascinator. Fascinators and headbands allow for a greater variety of up do’s and other hair accessories. Again, it is important to remain low key and always different to the bride’s chosen style.

It is always worth remembering to take into account the groom’s mother’s feelings and wishes throughout the wedding preparation and planning. It is standard etiquette that the mother of the bride gets to choose her outfit first, although it might be a nice gesture to go shopping together so you can choose complimenting outfits.
